At the very Western end of the MTR Island line sits Kennedy Town, a fast gentrifying neighbourhood. This waterside district has plenty of open spaces including Belcher Bay Park and New Kennedy Town Praya where residents can stroll amongst greenery or the water. Specialty cafes and a wide range of restaurants have sprung up next to local mom and pop shops and eateries. KTown, as some call it, retains a laid back feel with a distinct local charm, and is more affordable with a mix of older walk up properties and street level shopping. In the last few years, more and more young couples, small families and expats have moved to this area lured by the mix of contemporary and traditional.
