Soho
Soho is an entertainment zone located within Central district bordering Sheung Wan and Lan Kwai Fong. Although its name is derived from “South of Hollywood”, the area now spans from below Caine Road bordered by Old Bailey and Aberdeen Street and running along the Mid Levels escalator to Robinson.
It is the Mid Levels escalator which is credited with Soho’s now vibrant and eclectic character. There are cool bars, cafes and restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques with a trace of its Cantonese past just visible in a few porcelain shops and outdoor stalls at lower Elgin.
Once populated by the elderly in walkups buildings, Soho is now home to many young expats who appreciate the buzz of the area and the walkability to Central and Lan Kwai Fong. Many of these older flats are now renovated to a high standard and giving their owners very attractive yields.
